The forecast was iffy for wind today - so I took the sure thing and dawn patrolled Hickam with the Foil Drive.
Glassy conditions - but SUPER high tide. There were waves, but they peaked and backed off a bit because of the water depth.
Same foil - switched out No.33 for No.34 (anticipating the more challenging wave catching conditions).
Bill also came out! He's got his gear dialed in - flatwater starts with the Kujira 1210!
Typical session -
I used the cruise control on the way out and even paddled to augment. I had the remote in my mouth. When I got to the break, I had rode one wave and then stopped to tighten the bolts. Then I realized I hadn't resecured the remote to the wrist leash - I had essentially thrown the remote away. I had to dive three times, but I did end up finding it (WHEW!!!). I won't make that mistake again...
I got some long rides, but I had to pump quite a bit to get across the waves when they went flat.
16 rides in 80 minutes - that was a ride every 5 minutes!
It was fun hanging with Arvin, Jesse and Bill at uncrowded Seconds!
