Wing Foiling Session - 8/17/2023

Did a dawn patrol wing session at Kailua yesterday - another opportunity to hang out with Nick!

And Marlon got stood up by his "friends" (they were suppose to go on a hike - but they were hung over and didn't call him to cancel the hike - nice "friends") so he came out also.

I setup my light wind gear - SW2 5.2/1090/210/Cedrus 85/No.25

Nick setup a 7.0 meter Drifter and his big foil (HS1550V2).

I had to paddle to the middle of the bay to pick up a gust, but after that I was up and riding.  I didn't stay out too long for fear of dropping off foil and getting stuck outside.

Lots of north in the wind...

Looked like 10-15 mph while I was out -

Which makes my 18.8 mph top speed better than the wind speed!!!!

Another incentive was Bobby was saying I should put up my 11m kite and do that instead of winging - I thought about it, but figured I could get up in the gusts.  I was the only one on the bay for a little bit - really peaceful -

Short but fun session!
