Evening Session - 6/17/2023

I went out for a late evening prone foil session to test out the rebuilt No.31 and to start the long process of getting used to a coil leash I picked up from HIC.

There were still a ton of people at the beach when I drove up - residual from the contest.

I had to guess where to place the foil because the marks I had made for where I had the Progression 170 set had gotten sanded off during the latter stages of the repair.

The first placement actually yielded some pretty good results.  I got a 2 for 1 on the first wave, and I had some long runs with hard turns.

But it didn't feel like I thought it used to.  I went ahead and moved the foil up about a quarter inch and got a couple more waves.

These rides were closer to what I recall this foil/board combo producing.  On one wave I got a late takeoff and immediately dropped into a hooking turn (SO MUCH FUN!!!)

I had a hard time getting used to the coil leash.  I'm just going to have to continue using this to get used to it - primarily for use on the Foil Drive setup (so it doesn't get stuck in the prop).

Here is where the foil ended up.  I did find some pictures I took during the repair process - I went ahead and did a ratio-proportion and have some measurements of where the foil was sitting.  I'll take the measurements and compare it to this setting (tomorrow).
