Wind was back, but pretty lully. Regardless - it is good to have the wind back.
There was also some surf.
Tide was mid.
I setup the usual parawinging gear - No.34, AFS Enduro 1300/HA43, AFS UHM 80cm mast - and grabbed the BRM Maliko 5.1
I almost feel into a trap. The wind was up while I was setting up - but it was weird and weak while I was paddling out. I stuck with it and eventually got up with a gust. I was trying to go upwind and stay above Fenceline to stay in the active wind field. BUT I jibed and ran out of wind on the way back.
I stuck with it and picked up another gust and got further in. I had unfortunately moved further down wind and was in the dead zone. I packed the parawing away and started paddling the board back up towards Fenceline.
At this point I saw Roland launching with a wing.
I made it past Fenceline and was closer to Coves - and the wind was definitely more solid on this side.
I got up and stayed up for the most part. If the wind were stronger, I could have used the BRM Ka'a 4.8 and worked on retracting the parawing. The Maliko 5.1 has lines that make retracting a little more cumbersome than the current conditions would allow (and still have me get up consistently if I botched the operation).
I rode several waves, made some good jibes and held my line.
Nice correlation between the two graphs.
Good session!!! I can safely say I love parawinging (more than regular winging)!
