Wing Foiling Session - 5/7/2023

And after picking up the new car and getting it settled in the garage, I headed out for an afternoon winging session.

Pretty much the same conditions as this morning, except with a high tide getting higher (1.9').

I went conventional this afternoon - F One Eagle 1090/DW210 Stabilizer bolted on to the 85cm Project Cedrus Mast.  There were white caps, so I pumped up the Reedin SW2 4.7

This gear was so much fun to use.  Plenty more pitch stable than the Triton X-1 (no surprise there) - and today I needed the stability.  The set waves were overhead while I was up on foil!!!

I picked off some good sized waves - and got really long rides out of them.  On a few waves, I luffed the wing while I was setup as a goofy foot - I was concerned with potentially wiping out during these rides but I didn't (and the scary thing was that it actually felt normal).

I got a few waves by tacking on to them (look for the sharp points above).

Good wind for the wing/foil combo.

When you take the big wipeout 46mph event, I did record a 20.6mph max speed and several other 20+mph rides.

This was another one of those epic sessions - so coupled with this morning's session, that makes today likely one of the best foiling days I've had!!!
