Parawing Session - 10/18/2025

And I got a second session in over at Hickam.

Prayot and Norm were there - so three parawings out at once.

I swapped out No.42 for No.34

I brought the Flysurfer POW 4.0 out again.

Prayot did a good job with this ding repair - I like the tiger stripes.

The wind was still pretty strong.  But - Hickam has ups and downs and swirls - it stayed true to form.

This was a good session.

I got my bearings with the wind direction and speed, then I headed out to Firsts.  The waves were small - but I made sure to get out to Firsts proper.

Then I headed over to Seconds and surfed a couple of waves there.

So I can claim to be the first to parawing White Plains, Pavilions, Firsts and Seconds.

Good thing I went - because Prayot followed.  So he is the second to parawing Firsts and Seconds.

I headed back to the inside and practiced more jibes.  The POW 4.0 is definitely a more nimble version of the POW 5.0 - they definitely have the same DNA - jibes need to be banked.  The 4.0 is easier to turn - but it may be that the 5.0 is used in lighter wind and whether there is wind in it or not makes that difference.

I attempted a couple of tacks on the inside.  I got around on both of them - the last one was actually cleanly executed.

I tried once on the outside and it was ugly.

This parawing feels best at 15 to 22 mph.

The wind started to turn more north and it started to slacken so I figured it was time to wind down the session.

I did line up speed runs - probably took the Enduro 1300 close to its upper limit.

Another great session!!!
