Dawn patrolled with Marlon today. He brought out the Submoon and threw on his Machado Quads.
I brought the same setup as yesterday - 4'8" prone foil board, Kujira 980, 75cm Project Cedrus mast. I did swap out the Kujira 218 rear stabilizer for the 14.875" flex stabilizer.
It was definitely bigger today. But there was more wind on it and the tide was a little higher, so there was a lot of turbulence out there. I caught several, and with the big swell, carving cutbacks was more fun today - but my rides seemed a little shorter than yesterday and I wasn't able to connect a couple of the waves I had.
Riding a mast this tall in the surf is a little different. Until you get accustomed to it, you get the initial impression that at max height, you are going to fly the foil straight out of the water. I never did breach like that, but it did take me a couple of days of using this again to get comfortable with the takeoffs.
Marlon was in about the same time was - he said the quads were a little stiff. I'll let him us a trailer fin that I have - maybe that'll be a good balance between the twin and a quad.
