19th Anniversary!!!

So La wanted to eat pancakes for our Anniversary - pancakes from Highway Inn.  We got started a little later than we should have (breakfast stops at 11am) so we ended up eating lunch stuff instead.

Pictures from the Beach

La and Noe came with Marlon and me to the beach!  And La brought her DLSR so I got a shot of me up on the foil in the surf.

She also got plenty of shots of me eating it - for some reason I was off... I'd either not get up on foil, or I would get up and breach (truth be told, I am in the process of breaching in this picture).  There is a fine line between not foiling (because of too much weight up front) and breaching (not enough weight up front).  I'm beginning to wonder if it is time for me to rig up the shorter board (5'2").

La also took a bunch of pictures of Marlon surfing - but that is the next post (and I'm going to make him post from his computer).

Mahalo La for being the photog!!!!

Post Lane Date Night

We spent most of the day getting our home back in order - plants back on the racks, tools and equipment back on the shelves, vacuuming, sweeping, and identifying stuff that we can purge (since we were going through it all anyways).  A friend of ours asked if we could come over to their house to fix a few things that broke in the heavy winds - and that turned out to be a great excuse to go on a date night!

We hit Nathan's and after checking out his plants and fixing a few broken pots, we headed down to the Olive Tree - a greek restaurant that is never open when we are in Kahala.  Awesome food!!!

Next we stopped at the top of Diamond Head.  The surf was waist to shoulder high and a little textured from the gusty wind.  A guy surfing had his leash break and he swam in from the middle break at Cliffs.  The wind kept pushing his board towards Lighthouse and he swam past it.  When he got to the beach, he kept looking around for his board and he finally looked up at us - we pointed and he took off running after the board.

Fun date night!  And....

I love my wife!

Water Sunday

Marlon and I went on a dawn patrol at White Plains and sailed a weta in Pearl Harbor - but we didn't take any pictures.  It was a really fun day!!!

I did take pictures of La sewing a spar bag out of tarp - that's one super talented woman!!!

And While We're on the Topic of Meals...

This is one for the record books - La made and ate biscuits and gravy!!! And it was fantastic!!! Definitely cannot eat this everyday... without reducing your lifespan by several years - but what a wonderful treat!!! She never ate this before in my presence!!! After 16 years of marriage, countless stops along many freeways for food, having lived in the South for many years - all with her look of "how can you eat that stuff". You have just witnessed a miracle!!!

In Between and After

I initially paddled out with Marlon on the Firewire. I was able to catch a few while Marlon was waiting for his wave. I also caught up with Noe who was using a tiny boogie board to ride the shorebreak more efficiently. Marlon caught another and got to standup on the board!!! I wasn't in position to take photos, but I did see him get up! At some point I did get on the SUP and caught a bunch of little ones ;) I'm glad the sun is making it's way back to the Northern hemisphere - that's means more time to surf after work!!!

Seattle for the Day

We headed up to Seattle for the day - we started by checking out Emerald Water Anglers. Nice shop with a really cool fly organizing system. After that we made out way to Pike's Place Market. We saw the Duck Truck fleet partying it up in the streets. Lots of people at the market.... No shortage of fish and fishing references We went to have some chowder at the Pacific Place Mall (no lines like at the Market). Ended up walking around Belltown for a bit. And we finished off the day at the Asian district near the stadiums. Fun day checking out Seattle and catching up with my bro Landon at the sushi joint!!!
