Well yesterday was La and my 20th Wedding Anniversary!!! To celebrate, we all went out for a special dinner - sushi at Mitch's. This was such a treat and we all left extremely satisfied.
I'll let the pictures do the talking.

This was outstanding sushi. That's not saying our normal haunt isn't great - we just wanted to make this evening special and different. Happy 20th La and may we have 200 more!!!
We had a friend in town and decided to have sushi!!! And best of all, our old favorite spot is back up and running again - California Beach Rockin Sushi!!!
Since our favorite local sushi restaurant recently closed it's doors (the building has been torn down and a new high rise condo is going up), we've been on the prowl to find a similar sushi joint to replace it. Our latest try was at this place -
The hamachi was good, but the other rolls had cream cheese and the imitation crab mix used in California rolls. I don't mind either, but La and the kids prefer neither in their sushi.
Marlon ranked it behind the Waikele Genki Sushi. We're going to keep looking.
After the expo, we went to grab some sushi. Some sushi from a place La and I first ate at over 15 years ago!!!
We took this same picture when we were dating!!!! I'll update this post when I find the picture.
The sushi is pretty good here. Oahu has always been special to La and I, and we can't be happier that we are able to live here again!
Update - here's the original
;)
Another request for Marlon's Birthday - his favorite food - Sushi! We hit a restaurant that has intrigued us - Gyotaku.
This is the second place we've been to that has used fried wontons as a nacho chip. And I finally got to eat natto (not bad, but I'd have to stretch pretty far to figure out a use...). The sushi was ok - funny thing is we're having a hard time finding a great sushi restaurant (that won't break our wallet). I think the Japanese bentos and other dishes would be a better bet (as those dominated the menu - but we can also make those dishes, so why go out to eat those). Naoki gyotaku on the walls (but only three of them??? I thought the whole place would have been covered). Still good and Marlon found another place to offer a Godzilla roll.
