Evening Session and La on a Boat - 2/21/2025

La and I went to Hickam this evening - she finished off her sailing course...

And I burned a Foil Drive battery.

It was cool to be out at Seconds when La and her crew (and the rest of the class) sailed past.

I managed to catch several rides out at Seconds - 

But oddly enough, with this being the first time I used No.40 with the added deck pads (for grip when taking off) - the board seemed heavy today.

I also had some weird readings from the remote/battery.  Makes me wonder if I should use the app every time before going out...

Definitely a pattern today.  I actually got some pretty long rides - the only issue as mentioned above was the sluggish feeling.

11 rides in under an hour - pretty good!

Celebrating La's Birthday

We celebrated La's birthday early this year.  She really wanted all of us to go sailing as a family at the same time/place.  Here all rigged up Lasers and hit Pearl Harbor!!!

There actually was some decent wind.

The wind was really shifty - on, off, East, North, North-East....  This is La.

Good times on the water!!!!  After that, we headed to the Cheesecake Factory for linner.  We got so stuffed!!!

La and Noe Sailing

After we finished grinding and painting the trailer, we headed to Pearl Harbor to go sailing (Noe and La did with La's sister Leona - they dropped me off at Hickam Harbor to go winging, thats next post).

La went sailing this morning (while I got groceries).  She was on a Laser!!!

Not sure what's going on with the helmet...

Saturday Afternoon Sailing and Shower

Noe has a buddy who is leaving island and they wanted the opportunity to go sailing again (outside of class).  After I got back from kiting, we all packed up and headed to Rainbow Bay Marina.  Both Marlon and Noe checked out Lasers, and La and I went out on the Weta.  This gray hulled one was very similar to our old boat.

Oh - and it was raining the whole time.  There were some good squalls that blew through - made for some really exciting runs with all three sails deployed!!!  We're going to have to do this more often!

Lots of Boats Racing Yesterday

Noe raced in the HYSA #8 race - the BICs were invited so there were another 18 boats in the water and other races going on around Kaneohe.

Pulling the boat trailer out of KYC was pretty comical (watching everybody stack boats in and on top of trucks, cars and dollies).

So La isn't a "Soccer Mom" - she's a "Sailing Mom"!!!
