Hanging Out in Hanalei

Lunch and window shopping in Hanalei -

I emphasize WINDOW SHOPPING because this shop had tons of expensive polynesian art that I would have bought if money were no object... awesome pieces, but too expensive for my budget. And I think I can carve similar pieces... hmmmmmm....

And here is the single lane bridge (and some Nenes - the Hawaiian Goose).

  Hanalei -

Surfing Hanalei

After a long drive across the south shore, then through the hippie town of Kapaa, and across the single lane bridge at Hanalei, we finally made it to the beach! The surf was perfect for having fun!!!

Noe and Marlon caught a bunch of fun waves!

Awesome waves (albeit on the small side - but again - too much fun!!!!)

Cat Line Up

Off the beach -

Hanalei offered what appeared to be an awesome launch for beach cats - as evidenced by the boats lining the waterfront above the high tide line.

One of the craft sitting on the beach was a double outrigger canoe with a sail rig - in my years living on Oahu, I never saw one of these. I think I prefer the standard version of the Sailing Canoe.

There was a Hobie Wave plying the waters among the anchored boats, but not much else going on the day I drove through.

This would be an awesome trip to undertake one day -
