My Favorite Sailors

I love my kiddoroosters!!!

And I'm so happy that they have the opportunity to sail as much as they do and that they've really taken to racing and doing their best!  Good luck kids - I'll be cheering for you (while I'm at work...)

Marlon and Noe Dominating!!!

We woke up early this past Saturday to help setup for the Pearl Harbor Yacht Club HYSA Regatta. Putting up a tent, I had flashbacks of field exercises...

The kids from all the clubs had a great time -

But it was these two that dominated!!! First and second place finishes!!!

Pacific Yacht Club

As little as I knew about Pearl Harbor Yacht Club, I knew even less about the Pacific Yacht Club. They being the sponsors of the first HYSA 2017 race, I got to walk around their spaces. They had a bunch of cool stuff hanging on their walls. Places with cool stuff on the walls typically means they have cool people hanging around on the inside.

Kayaking at a Sailing Event

We bring our kids to a sailing get together and they go kayaking :p

Weta Sailing Once Again

Our local MWR has two Wetas in their rental fleet. I finally got of my butt to get checked out to sail the boat. Actually my bum hip has been acting up again and that's why I haven't been anxious to get back in the cockpit. La had set up a family day at the Marina through Pearl Harbor Yacht Club to get more people interested in racing in the HYSA events. With us being there already, I figured I should at least get this done. Now on a weekend with some spare time, I can take the family out on a fast boat! I miss sailing our Weta - but with our life over the past few years, there was no way we could have kept it. Having this option is a wonderful thing!

Marlon's First Official Regatta

Marlon really enjoys racing sailboats. So much so that La and Marlon joined the Pearl Harbor Yacht Club (pretty inexpensive as they have minimal facilities - polar opposite to the others in the area) and Marlon had his first race this past weekend. Unfortunately he had to use a trainer sail on the El Toro and because of the lighter winds he could not take advantage of his lighter weight. That didn't crush his spirits though (he told me he could have destroyed the competition if he had more power). Great job Marlon!!!! You'll crush them next time!!!
