Cool Stuff at the Local Pet Shop

With a conure and a chameleon at the house now, we find ourselves visiting our local pet shop more frequently.  They have been bringing in some really cool stuff lately.  These clownfish were almost pure black!

I have pictures of Marlon doing this when he was much younger

I'm trying to cycle a container to house some of these shrimp.  Watching lawn mowers is pretty relaxing

I guess I'd bite too if I lived in a cage full time, but then if I didn't maybe I wouldn't bite, but then if I just bite for the heck of it....

Kinda looks like the new rebooted Godzilla -

Saturday - Diving Part 2

This Anemone was on the flats around 45 feet down - the drop off was 20' away. Lots of surging going on. The Clownfish had a tabling coral nearby to hide under, but this one decided to pose a bit.

There was another anemone/clownfish group in the same area, but they were not in the mood for pictures.

Procreating

Not me - my mated pair of Solomon Islands Gold-Striped Maroon Clownfish (Premnas biaculatus) also known as the Spine-Cheeked Clownfish.

In the middle of the picture is their 7th clutch of eggs. Every two weeks these two have gotten it on and the result is about 150-200 offspring. They hatch out about 1.5 weeks later (only to become fish food - aaaahhhh the food chain is such an unmerciful force).

The other picture is my prized Giant Clam (Tridacna deresa). The one in the foreground has grown double it's size from when I first brought it home from a shop in Torrance (south LA). The one in the background has almost tripled it's size (it's a green-lipped variant with gray eyespots, while the former is a purple lipped/striped one). Everything but two hard corals have been doing extremely well this past month.

Just wanted to share the "love"

Aloha
