Pittsburgh - Much More Than You Think

My predetermined thoughts were - industrial city. My experiences were quite the opposite - college town, cool culture, nice people, great beer. With the confluence of the Ohio and the Allegheny Rivers, it also has a bunch of bridges. No matter where we go and have been, there is a common theme of "I could live here" - this place is no exception (but maybe that's because it is summer and not the middle of winter...)

You Can See Everything at the National Aviary

Good thing I had the "talk" already - makes times like this way less awkward and more a "circle of life" thing. This is a Victoria Crowned Pigeon pair - apparently the largest species of pigeon in the world.

National Aviary in Pittsburgh

Our first full day in the Pittsburgh area - we checked out the National Aviary. Noe has been on a birding streak lately, so we figured this stop should help fuel that interest. This was a compact, but very well organized place to visit. We recommend it even if you don't particularly like birds.
