Evening Foil Drive Session - 10/13/2026

The forecast (surfline) was calling for good wind - enough to parawing in, BUT it just seemed too be a little on the lighter side as I was looking at my normal indicators.

Also knowing the tide was on the low side, I figured it best not to parawing.

Instead I setup No.43 with the Cabrinha Whippit 850/Tweaker 160

This front foil (with this rear stabilizer) has taken over as my favorite foil combo for destroying waves.  Small, giant or anywhere in between, this foil can handle and rip!!!

But even as good as it is, it doesn't hold a candle to this (La asked to come to the beach today!)

And with La at the beach, I used the regular Max battery to keep the session at a reasonable timeframe.

Curvy, squiggly lines!!!

I've developed the feel for this foil now and I can lean in and get harder turns out if it.  I think the AFS Silk 850 V1 can still hook into a peak better, but the Whippit is turning out to be faster, more versatile, and easier on my knees.

11 rides - super fun and this foil combo keeps getting better!!!

Probably gonna take a rest day tomorrow knowing the winds should be coming back in a couple of days.

Foil Drive Dawn Patrol - 12/7/2025

Smaller conditions this morning wave wise.

Tide was really high - overtopping at the showers...

Light northerly winds.

All put together, the high tide was reflecting the waves back out to sea - so it was relatively smooth, but bumpy.

Same lower foil and Foil Drive, but I switched boards over to No.41

I'm going to write another post on this Mako Carve rear stabilizer - but the turns I feel I am getting when I have this stab on... ho brah - so carvey!!!

With the super high tide, launching and landing were about as easy as you can get at WP.

I kinda felt bad for the surfers today - they weren't really catching much with the tide so high.

I would sit outside and cherry pick - catching and riding for really long distances.

From the tracks, you can see just how carvey this rear stabilizer makes the system.

25 fun filled rides!

So much fun from mediocre conditions!!!

Evening Foil Drive Session - 4/29/2025

I got to the beach a little later than I normally do.  Zach was riding prone.

The tide was really high again.  The waves were a notch smaller than yesterday.  And the wind was not blowing as hard either.

And this Monk Seal was chillaxing at the normal launching point - but these guys get priority.

I took a few minutes to put the Flow D-Wing 4.2 up in the air.  Definitely feels a little easier to fly and keep happy than the BRM Maliko v1.  With the wind coming back soon, if there is an opportunity to bring this out (smaller waves, strong wind), I'll take it out - it's time to get this under my belt, even if it means eating lots of humble pie.

Back to Foil Drive-ing - today reinforced the AFS Enduro 900 having an incredible range.  The waves were really small today and it handled it all turning the lemons into lemonade!!!

For less than an hour out, 15 rides is really good!

I made sure to peel off before I hit the lineup - I didn't want to draw any anti-foil ire...

Super fun session (I'm turning into a broken record on this statement).
