See Food

Been making smoked salmon lately - and I put together this kit I've had for a little bit to get some space between the pieces.

More surface area = more smoky deliciousness.

This second rack worked really well!

More Smoked Salmon

We had several people over for Easter. And that meant making barbecue. And that meant fixing the Big Green Egg (that I have been procrastinating on for quite some time). I ended up fixing the alignment and changing out the gaskets. And this all took a long time (a lot longer than I thought). After all that it was time to smoke some salmon and grill some chicken!!!! I wasn't able to get after shots - everything got eaten before I could shoot. Here are the befores - Happy Easter!!! The Big Green Egg is back in action!!!

A Little Piece of Heaven on Earth (in Honolulu)

Post-surf lunch on Sunday - 1/2 pound Avocado Burger with large fries at Kua Aina in Ward Village. This place has character and incredible food (but wait until I go to eat at the one in Haleiwa - original character and the best out of all the Kua Ainas - maybe it has the oldest, most seasoned equipment to cook the food - who knows - all I know is the food is so good up there - this place is Ni-ban). When we were stationed in Japan, we lived pretty close to this beach (Miura). And the Kua Aina we frequented was in Kamakura. Pizza La wasn't bad, but there were some really good sit-down pizza places near our house. I just like saying "Pizza La" because La would roll her pretty eyes (ironic that she isn't a big fan of pizza - and almost everywhere you looked there was a Pizza La delivery car running around). The best burger in the universe if you ask me!!!!

Crabby Chris Crab Shack

Eddie told us to eat here and HOLY BOLOGNE!!!! Awesome food!!! Marlon had the Blackened Mahi Sandwich, Noe had the Southern Style Crab Cake, La had the Mahi Tacos and I had a Shipwreck Burrito (BBQ'd pork). The food was so good we had to take a nap (THIS IS THE BEST POSSIBLE ENDORSEMENT I CAN GIVE - ***** Ka-nak-attack)!!! Oh - and Noe just naps all the time, she enjoyed the food nonetheless.
