My Favorite Sailors

I love my kiddoroosters!!!

And I'm so happy that they have the opportunity to sail as much as they do and that they've really taken to racing and doing their best!  Good luck kids - I'll be cheering for you (while I'm at work...)

Surprise - Surprise!!!

I was helping the kid's sailing club by towing the hulls down to Hawaii Yacht Club in Waikiki.  After disconnecting the trailer, we went around back and guess what we saw....

Two of the three catamarans that raced in this year's TransPac!!!!

Very impressive - and even more so that they shattered the record!!!  Here are a few more conventional pictures of Mighty Merlowe and Maserati

Marlon and Noe Racing

Speaking of the kids racing, Marlon and Noe did race yesterday at a Waikiki Yacht Club sponsored race. The conditions were really tough - fast counter currents, wind from every direction, no wind, and some confused racers (learn your rules people, Marlon and Noe did), but the kids still had fun.

Thursday Morning Dawn Patrol at Pops

Surf session before work. Fun swell from the Southern Hemisphere! Lots of pictures with water droplets flying around - I'll let them do the talking. Fun session!

Lots of Catch Up Posts from the Weekend - Nice Chairs

I was busy this past weekend - not just playing in the ocean, but laundry, washing the truck, meeting with old colleagues, and even some work. The next several posts are less than a week old - playing catch up for now. I ended up going to Waikiki twice last week (one big sprawling shopping mall with people living on top - not my scene, except in the summer when the surf comes rolling in). I posted pictures of the fish paintings a couple of posts back from the first trip. On the second trip, I saw these chairs in the Quiksilver shop. Nice chairs

Fish Painting in Sansei Sushi

A wonderful three panel painting with a lot of the pelagic fish that you can find swimming offshore
A rack of longboards in an alleyway in the heart of Waikiki. Showing off a little "Guam" pride.

Waikiki Surf on a Mat

Late afternoon surf at Canoes and Queens. After seeing the surf break when I wait for the elevator, how could I not go? Lots of people at the break proper, including two tandem couples. I stayed on the inside and took the gems nobody else wanted. F-U-N!!!

Not Just for Fishing Gear -

The walk from the parking lot to the break can be rough on the feet. That is if you don't have footwear. So the question then becomes "what do I do with my footwear when it's time to paddle out?"

I've buried my slippers.

I've hid them in trees and bushes.

I've even had them stolen -

But they now have a place on deck!

This SUP keeps on delivering!
