Wing Repair and Board Prepping

Yesterday while I was using this wing (Takuma RS 6.1) the leading edge bladder popped.  Today I went ahead and fixed it.  You never know what you are going to find when you pull a bladder.  The pop sounded small and noncatastrophic - and it even took a little bit of time for the air to completely come out - so I figured I got lucky and this hole was small.

And small it was.  I had this patched in no time.

And I went ahead and inflated it and left it inflated.  It's at my office - I'll check on it in the morning.  I'm thinking it should be good to go.

I also decided to sell the surfboards I'm not currently using.  Those would be the Firewire Sunday (shown here), the Firewire Greedy Beaver, and the Toots 7'4" Asymmetric

The proceeds from selling these boards will go to the Ocean Rodeo Glide AX wings I'm saving up for and to pay off the Firewire Seaside and Beyond.

I'll post more pictures tomorrow of all the surfboards moving around (bought and sold).  There is also a swell that is inbound - surfing tomorrow!!!

Dawn Patrol - 8/14/2022

Dawn patrolled with Marlon.  Based on the forecast and some of the waves coming through yesterday, he brought his Seaside and I had the Toots 7'2" Asymmetric.  It was pretty good when we first got there - but it just kept getting worse the whole time we were there.

Not to mention the droves of newbies showing up for social hour.  I came in after a few waves to fly the drone.

I might go back for a prone foiling session later today.

Evening Session - 5/27/2022

Rising swell was hitting on Friday afternoon.  I went to WPB and used the Toots 7'4" asymmetric.  I got some good drops early, but the waves got wonky towards the end of the session.  Roland was out on his surfboard also.  There was one guy on a foil, but we didn't recognize him.

I left a hair early because I needed to run errands - but I did check out the surf at Campgrounds to see if it was worth it to go there on Saturday.  It looked like it was better at WPB.

Dawn Patrol - 5/14/2022

Dawn patrol this morning - calm winds, thigh high swell and a pretty low tide.  Yesterday I already decided to take out the recently repaired Toots Asymmetric 7'4" Mid Length.  Marlon brought his longboard and the new Air 2S drone.

This is a really fun board!  It is really fast on my toe side, and it turns nicely on heel side (like asymmetrics are supposed to).  I need to put more wax up front - the volume distribution is such that I could get pretty far up there.  I can see myself using this a lot when the waves get good - or even on those low tide mornings where I don't necessary want to bring the foil out.

EN twin on the toe, Ryan Lovelace Quad on the heel.

I saw Marlon on a few.  He went in earlier than I did to break out the new drone.  I went over to watch him once I had the board in the truck.  It looks more robust than the Mini 2 he had been flying.
