Sunday Morning Surf at White Plains Beach
The family hit the beach yesterday to wet our gills (it's been a while). Waist high, not to windy and lots of space for everyone to catch their stoke.

Marlon was out with the board Charlie gave him, and Amy was out also with her new GoPro 5 (nice kit).

Marlon is getting good at paddling a lower volume board - I bet soon I'll be breaking out the planer again to carve out some ripping shortboards!

Marlon's First North Shore Waves and Surfing with the Bizy's
I've been on a streak the last several days. I've been waking up early to get a dawn patrol in at White Plains (part of my resolution to lose a bunch of belly fat, and to get out and enjoy what is immediately around us more) - but the small swell that was pushing through has dissipated. So along comes Saturday and our friends the Bisgard's call and want to go surfing (Charlie is back on vacation from an overseas tour). No swell down here, too big and unruly on their side of the island... time to checkout Puena Point. That was a good call and a great first session for Marlon to see the difference in the way the waves break up North (without having to get pounded or drug over reef shelves).
Here is his first wave!!!

Another wave with me behind (must be convenient to have a person with a GoPro constantly following you around everywhere).

I caught a bunch - but they were mostly waist to shoulder high.

Amy paddled out and here's Charlie up and riding.

Fun, mellow surf day!!!

Noe Finally Surfing Again
The whole family went out Sunday morning to surf. Marlon was way outside waiting for the bigger waves to come in. He did come in a few times to show off his "Deadman" stance.
La took the Starboard Element out and caught a bunch.
I watched the kids that stayed in close so our friend Amy could catch some of her own waves.
And Noe was able to go out and catch four stand up waves on the Catch Surf Odyssey!!!! I had to bribe her to go out and catch those waves, but it was worth it to hear her say she was having fun in the water here in Hawaii (earlier she told me she liked surfing better in Florida because it was easier).

Family Surf Day at Flat Island
We packed up the van and headed over to Flat Island. The wind was offshore and light (at the beginning of the session). La paddled out on the Starboard Element, Marlon on the Wavestorm and me on the ULI Lopez Special Edition (Noe stayed back on the beach with Camille, Henry and Charlie). Small day but totally fun - especially with La out there talking smack and getting to see Marlon take on a new break!!! I'll let the pictures do the talking.

What a perfect day!!!

Amy Bizy Surfing White Plains
The Bizy's came out to come surfing with us. Noe coaxed the Bizy kids out to go bodyboarding and I volunteered to keep and eye on them while La and Amy went out for some waves. La came back a bit later and I took the "Everyday" back out. I was able to take some pictures of Amy surfing - here are the pictures from yesterday.
