Garage Works - 9/27/2025

I trimmed up the filled in spots along the split seam, cleaned out the interior of the block slot and glued in the mast track block.

I should have done this yesterday to be able to laminate both sides of the board over this weekend - but oh well, better to go slow and steady on a new shape.

I should be able to get the bottom deck laminated tomorrow.

Garage Works - 9/14/2025

Yesterday I got some progress in on No.42

I cut the slot for the mast track and got it dry fitted.

The alignment was perfect

I tried to get the fore-aft alignment set through the shaping process, but there were a few millimeters I couldn't get worked out.  I'll just add some glass bubbles-epoxy slurry to smooth out the transitions  

And - I've decided to bestow this North Mode Pro 6.8 to Nick up in Washington State.  He is a bigger guy and will definitely use this wing.  As I am parawinging more and more, I'm less inclined to use wings in general - but I've also decided that I do not need to race anymore.  With those two factors, I did not need to hold onto this wing.

I'm still holding on to the North Nova Pro 4.2 and 5.0 for days where the conditions are better for winging.

So now there is more room in the garage for parawings!!!!

Garage Works - 1/4/2024

The weather was not so conducive for water sports today - so I opted to stay home and get some errand done.  And then UPS delivered the prebuilt 16" mast foil track I ordered and I started to study the foil box placement again on No.34

This is where it ended up using the ratio from No.30

But when I showed this to the foiling crew I wing with, they suggested to move it up further.

So I went back to this posting on IG and studied the mast position and came up with a slightly ratio.  

This is the final position - moved up 2" from where it previously was set

This likely where the Eagle 1090 would sit.  Most of the other foils I use now are positioned forward of the 1090, so this gives me plenty of room to accommodate (Eagle 890, SK8 950, Spitfire 960, Spitfire 840, HPS 700)

Tomorrow I'll work on the entry rocker and skinning the top and bottom decks (trying to preserve as much thickness as possible).

If I don't get too distracted, I may have the rough shaping/fine tuning done by Sunday.
