Prone Session 2 with the Cabrinha Prestige 905/160

I took the same setup from yesterday for another prone session.

Similar conditions to yesterday - but slightly bigger waves on the sets.

And the swell direction shifted and on the bigger waves the lineup would kinda close out.

I caught seven waves today.

One was a steeper drop.  Got in a bottom turn on that one, rode further along and hit a white water section (and down I went).

On one longer ride, after carving around and back and forth, I shot out the back, pumped out towards the outside and got to turn back on the next wave - Double Dipping!!!!

The other rides were longer with lots of turns.

On the earlier waves, I think I could feel some flex in the mast when cranking the turns.

I like this foil a lot.  I ordered the Cab adapter from Foil Cedrus - if the foil performs just as well using the Evolution Cedrus Surf mast, I'll be selling some stuff to fund purchasing this (foil and stab, not the mast).

Or I can keep saving and get a Hydrocraft Systems Helix....

Anyways - tomorrow I'm gonna try the Prestige on Foil Drive.

Prone Foiling the Cabrinha Prestige 905

No wind today.  In fact with the thick cloud cover, it was really glassy.

Nice high tide and the swell was belly high on the sets.

Marlon was at the beach taking pictures.

Eli was out with his tow boogie.  Robby had come in from FD, and Roland was still out buzzing around.

Prayot had texted and said he wouldn't have the time to test drive the Cabrinha Prestige 905/160 set until this Sunday.  So I should pick it up and put it through the ringer.

At first pass, his notes on it were it felt solid all around - the mast didn't flex like the F4 mast.

The Union connection looked to be really streamlined.

And the foils looked really efficient.

All the YouTube videos showed this to be a very maneuverable foil that had plenty of lift for its size.

I figured I start at the hardest point to test drive the foil - prone.

I caught two waves to start, but botched those getting my feet to remember how to prone foil.

But I caught three waves after that and they were absolutely perfect -

This foil turns like the Enduro 900, has the lift of the Enduro 1100, and is super forgiving.

For a small bit of time - it made me "want" to prone foil.

And I've never prone foiled a set smaller than the Silk 1050 - at 905, the Prestige was insanely good!

This immediately made the Unifoil Progression 170, the F One Momentum 800, the F One Eagle 690 all hanging in my garage subject to a liquidation sale to fund a Prestige...

Foil Drive Dawn Patrol - 11/25/2025

This was yesterday's dawn patrol -

It was so glassy, the waves were perfect and it wasn't crowded

I didn't want to mess with the trench prep so I set up No.40

AFS Enduro 900/HA40/UHM 80cm mast

I was getting 4x repeats like it was nothing

The waves were lined up making it easy!!!

19 rides - it really couldn't have been better

Foil Drive Dawn Patrol - 11/8/2025

Dawn patrol was really good this morning.  I thought the high tide was going to drown out the surf, but it was really good.

Zero wind - super glass!

Planning for the high tide, I setup the Foil Drive.

I also swapped out the HA40 rear stabilizer to the HA38.  The size difference isn't that big - but I wanted to try something different.  No.41 came out to play.

Stu, Roland, the guy on the Lift Efoil, and Dennis were all out.

Longer session on the HO battery.

The HA38 was definitely faster and turned harder (actually almost washing out a few times when I pushed really hard).  But it didn't carry through on the pumps as well as the HA40.  It seems as if the HA40 is just a hair bigger than optimum for me, and the HA38 is slightly smaller.  So for smaller days I can use the HA40, bigger days the HA38.

As the tide came up to +2.5' the waves did start to drown out.

Still got waves on the Foil Drive - 25 rides over the nearly 2 hours out.

Dawn Patrol Foil Drive - 3/30/2025

This morning was about as close to foil paradise as it gets - 

Size, glassy, and tide were all excellent.

I ran the AFS Enduro 900/HA40 (in the rear mounting position) - time to sell off the Axis Spitfires.

Once I got the foil position dialed in, this setup blew me away!!!  And if you ask Andrew and Dean, it even drove me through a barrel!!!

I had the HO battery in - tons of endurance.

I had so many epic turns - I think this setup is getting me closer to slashing shortboard turn.  I'm going to need Marlon to drone to confirm.

The Enduro was getting me up on foil just as early (maybe a fraction later) as the Spitfire 960.

And it is an average of 3 mph faster.

I think I can even push it down to the Enduro 700...

This was one of those days that'll burned into my memory as a perfect session!

Evening Foil Drive Session - 3/18/2025

After work Foil Drive crew session at Pavilions.

Super light winds.  Nice full tide.  And there were some waves to be had. 

Since I'm working on No.40, I set up No.39.

The lower set was all the same as what I've been riding.

This setting is way better than what is marked.  I'm going to need to sand and relabel this.

For using the regular Max Power battery, and having peer pressure all around to efoil (every now and then), this really wasn't a short run battery time.

If you trace the outbound line, about halfway out, you see me pick up and wave, ride for a bit then turn and head out to the break proper on efoil.

From there I had several rides, but today they were on the shorter side.  The tide was probably too high for the wave energy coming in to break longer (lots of deep troughs out here anyways).

19 rides in less than an hour - ridiculous!!!!
