Wing Foiling Session - 11/6/2023

Another day of fantastic wind!  Hit WPB today after work and picking up Noe from school.

The only issue I had today was the low tide - not a good mix at WPB.  In fact the waves were up and I took a decent beating trying to get out.

And I actually placed a rear footstrap on (wanted to try jumping again).

Decent stats -

The wind was more consistent compared to yesterday.  The 4.2 was a hair small on the inside - but a hair too big on the outside.

I caught multiple great rides today - head high when up on foil and reeling all the way in - definitely the best waves of this wind event.

I rode one way too far in and paid with a second helping of "swim your rig out to get to deeper water"

I did get two good jumps in - it's easy to jump, but hard to land gracefully.

The big gaps are where I was caught inside (both at the beginning and the 2/3 point).

Roland was out - still trying to dial in his new board.

Roland definitely boosted some big air (like he always does).

I've been seeing this style of tail on the latest crop of boards... I might have to incorporate elements of this on No.33

Evening Session - 4/26/2022

I took the day off from work today to get a bunch of errands done - passport pictures, turning in truck to the body shop, rental car, passport applications for Noe and myself, and some other things.  I finished right around the time that I would normally hit the beach.

There was some significant energy still coming in from the south - so I decided to rig up the 4'8" prone foiling board, the 75cm PC mast and the Kujira 980.  I was still a little worried about the front foil screws not holding - but with the swell being close to overhead, it was time to throw caution to the wind...

I caught plenty of epic waves over in front of the cabins - overhead takeoffs , a quick line up and then afterburners lit for the racetrack run!!!  By the time I was getting tired and had my fair share, it seemed that the swell was also starting to back down.

And I found Roland - he was riding the inside and filming with his GoPro.

I'm glad I didn't have any equipment faults!

Evening Session - 4/21/2022

I didn't trust the wind this afternoon - there were lots of clouds hanging around and the normal signs (trees moving, flags flapping) were up and down.  I figured I'd reduce my frustration and prone foil again today.  Besides - I wanted to keep getting more experience on the Kujira 1440.  

Even though I thought the wind was light, Eli proved otherwise.  5.0 Alien Wing to boot... 

Roland and I were prone foiling - Marlon spent this session flying the drone.  At the onset, he had found a couple of hammerheads out towards Coves... we made sure to stay closer to Middles today.

I'm really liking this foil - lots of glide and if I go left (with the wind behind me), it pumps almost effortlessly.

Each session with the 1440 gets better than the last!!!

Evening Session - 3/7/2022

Pulled an evening session after work today.  Waves were really small and far and few between.  Tide was rising from 0.8' to 1.2' while I was out.  And there was zero wind - zero.

I brought the 4'8" prone foil board with the Axis setup again.  I wanted to confirm the mast placement and shim were good to go before changing things up again.

I caught a handful of really long waves.  The ART 999 is definitely a glider.  I got some 3 for 1s in all of this - but I definitely wasn't able to crank my turns around when trying to bounce off whitewater.  I think it is more me and not the foil - but only time will tell.

Roland was out and launching back flips like he had a new foil (but probably just trying to finally break apart his Uni).

Not a bad session considering the microwaves.

I'm going to take some measurements and swap out the 3 bolt Axis adapter for the 4 bolt, make the estimated mast adjustments and try everything out again.
