Dawn Patrol - 6/14/2026

The big south swell that is coming up from New Zealand arrived.  It was pitching lip way outside.

The tide was super low at dawn, and dropping into the mid morning.

I opted to surf -

And I got in two sessions -

First was with the Album Twinzer Twinsman.

I caught a few of the bigger reforms on the middle break.  There was a lot of water moving around - with the current dragging to the east.  I launched from the single cabin and at one point was out towards Coves.  I was lucky and my last wave I was able to take towards shore almost to Fenceline.

The twinzer was fun - especially when picking up the bigger ones, but with the amount of water moving the fins didn't feel loose.  On the rides it felt a little tracky and not at all like a twin.

I came in a swapped to the J Splee Hammah Fish

For the given conditions, this board worked so well -

First wave had three top-bottom turn combos

And I had a few more like it.  Pure fun!!!

The swell should peak this afternoon - and tomorrow will likely be manageable on Foil Drive outside.

Evening Session - 11/9/2025

And knowing there was a north wind and 60 kJ waves coming up from the Southern Hemisphere, I grabbed the Album Twinsman and headed to WP.

I caught exactly three waves.

The first was good - got some turns in and had a big smile on my face.

The second was shorter, but I got in a couple of harder turns.

I caught the third on the outside and rode it most of the way back into shore - carving and driving all the way.

I passed a foiler/surfer who I recognized as he was paddling out - he shot a look that said it all -

Phenomenal ride!!!!

This board needs energy - but boy what it can do with that energy!!!

Anointing the Album Twinsman Twinzer

And with some wave energy on the south shore, I had the inclination to anoint the Album Twinsman Twinzer.

Still glassy -

Waves were shoulder high on the sets.

This board paddles nicely.  I need to shift back a hair to optimize paddling position.  It responds really well to steeper faces.

It is fast.  And if there is energy in the wave, it turns so nice!

I had a few waves that showed the potential of this board - the last wave being the best.

I may have to take a trip up to the North Shore to open this one up

Outfitting the Album Twinsman Twinzer

In preparation for some inbound swells, I got this board waxed up and installed the fins.

These fins in this board.... so nice!

The canards are 0 degrees cant - but sitting in the FCS plug at 4 degrees, this represents a 4 degree cant.

I can't wait to get this board into some proper waves!
