Saturday Reef Combing - Crabs
I hung out with the Bisgard family on Saturday - this was at Kaneohe on the flats near the runway at the bottom of the tide cycle (pretty low Low tide). Lots of different types of crabs visible on the shelf sitting in pukas or under rocks. This was the prevalent species - a type of Xanthid crab
A species of Frog Crab - it totally looked like a rock (except for it's eye stalks poking out)
But this one was the find of the day - a Spotted Reef Crab or 7-11 Crab
And hidden at the bottom of the picture is a Ama Crab (Sally Light Foot Crab)
