I brought the kids down to Lake Newport on Sunday afternoon. We all decided to use ultralight weight spinning gear and begin fishing at the middle fishing spot. The usual suspects were there - bluegill, turtles in several varieties, small large mouth bass, mosquito fish, and others. The kids got into a casting contest to see who could throw the farthest. I ended up catching three bluegill while using Lunker City swimming plastic hooked onto a really small jig head. Pretty good fun!
