I got in two sessions today at Hickam. I'm counting them as separate because the wind conditions were different and I ended up using two different parawings.
When I got there, the wind was blowing pretty hard. No whitecaps, but I think that was more direction and less the amount of energy in the wind.
Same gear as yesterday, but I started off with the BRM Ka'a 4.8
I was mainly trying to figure out how to get better upwind angles with this parawing. For the most part I held my line
I was also trying to determine why my jibes on the Flysurfer POW 5.0 are so hit and miss. I pretty much know it already but it's part swirly/lully wind, and part long lines and big wing.
The more I use the Ka'a, the more I'm finding what it's strengths are - it's probably the most maneuverable parawing I've used to date. And it's super controllable - goes where you want it to go.
Lots of correlation between the wind speed and my speed.
Towards the end of the session, I could feel the wind dropping off - so I headed in to swap out the parawing.
