Parawing Session - 9/18/2025

The wind was up again today, but it looked lighter than previous days (but it wasn't).

Tide still nice and high.  Waves were intermittent, but when they came they looked fun (I actually didn't mind the flatter periods - easier to get up onto foil with the parawing).

Same gear as yesterday - but I finally took the Flysurfer POW 5.0 out in the water.

I like the initial pull of this parawing.  It pulls like a monster truck!!!

I also like the range.  Even in the gusts, if I grabbed higher on the bar knuckle, I could depower the wing pretty extensively.

And this PW goes upwind really well -

In fact - for most of the session I was upwind of my launch sequence.  That is pretty darn incredible and again this was the first time I took this parawing out into the water!

Not all is honky dory super duper with this wing - every one of these has their pros and cons.  There were multiple jibes were I was not able to get the wing to roll over to the new side.  That is actually the reason for most of the blue points below.

Some turns were really good, so it was probably user error and not the wing.  Oh well - I guess that means I have to go out more with this wing ;)

I pulled the Kalaeloa data today.  Without whitecaps in the water, these readings seemed to be closer to the conditions than the Hickam data.  Prayot was over there today and he said it sucked - too much up and down.

There does seem to be some correlation between the graphs.

I'm stoked I didn't have to paddle back in today!  Tomorrow is likely to be a carbon copy of today!
