Marlon and I dawn patrolled this morning. He was using his longboard with the new fin he recently bought. I had brought the FW Sunday with an 8.25" Flex fin as the tide was supposed to be low and dropping fast (but I also brought the 4'8" prone with the Kujira 980).
I ended up foiling - the swell was breaking on the outside so I didn't have to dwell on the inside to ride. The waves were either pitching lip or were too mushy to pick up. I did catch five or so Goldilocks waves - and they were all long rides with double dips. I usually don't use the 980 for prone foiling, but I need to change that - this foil is so good (carves like mad and still pumps enough to double dip).
Pretty predictable where it needed to line up (1/4" above the 1095 setting).
