The wind was deceiving today. It looked pretty nuclear - but it was up and down and coming from multiple directions.
There were some large waves on the outside and the tide was dropping.
No.40, AFS UHM 85 cm mast, Enduro 1300/HA43 (same as yesterday) - and powered by the BRM Ka'a 4.8m
I think I would have been better off with the Flysurfer POW 4.0 - which is more powerful and has a wider range. With the wind all over the place, I would lose ground and had to paddle three times - including another epic paddle to get back from way out in front of the last cabin.
I had some good runs, but when the gusts hit I would lose ground, and when the lulls were in place, I'd lose ground.
Prayot was out with his PR 4.3 and he made it back in without the drama.
How do you rig for this wind???
Despite the paddles, I still had some good runs!
But that paddle back sucked -
