Parawing Session -11/23/2025

Despite the weak wind forecast for the south shore, there was wind forecasted for Kailua.

High tides took out a few of the ironwood trees -

Just enough wind to get up on big stuff

AFS Enduro 1300/HA43 and the Flysurfer POW 5.0

It actually was a fun session.  There was a mix of wings, kitesurfers and kitefoilers out.  And one other parawinger - but he was on a Maliko V1 4.0 - not enough wind for that PW.

Lots on mowing the lawn, but every now and then a set would come through that was rideable at Jump City.  I got several long, really fun rides.  The POW does drift well so riding was one handed with the PW largely just following.

But that same lack of desire to change direction in lighter winds also makes this a crap shoot jibe PW.  Probably more user error than poor design.

This chart is from Waimanalo - it seemed to be more consistent over there.

There were periods of time where I'd wait for a gust to get back up after botching a low wind jibe.

But for the most part I was up and riding.  There was an OC-1 canoe race going on - so I would stay either upwind or downwind of the pack as they passed by.

I'm glad I got a powered parawing session in!!!
