I tried to go Foil Drive at Hickam this morning, but my remote wasn't connecting. I ended up talking with the crew over there, but I texted Jeff to get another remote.
Bill also gave me another board to fix.
After a full day of running errands with Noe and working on the board repairs, I went ahead and headed to WPB to test the new remote.
When the sets came through, the waves were pretty fun. The tide was high at 1.4' - but it was the onshore wind that made the conditions marginal.
Between this setup and the Silk 850, Foil Drive-ing will never be the same - SO GOOD!!!
When I pulled up, Derek was finishing a wing session - he said the wind was up and down. With the prospects of clean conditions, I went ahead and launched. So did Derek - he did a quick swap to his foil assist (Manta).
Got in an hour - could have stayed out longer, but I wanted to get back to the house to finish the board repairs.
The breaks that we wing on were working with the new swell. Challenging rides with the chop - but good practice for hooked turns on the peaks and troughs.
15 rides - and one was a double dip. Not bad for the first FD session in a bit.
Good session!!!
