Fuselage Repair for Roland

Another one of the foilers at the beach asked me if I could repair his cracked fuselage.  I said I'd give it a try.  I had to clean out the polyester resin the previous guy who tried to repair it used.  They I tried to see if the crack was clean enough by clamping it.

Not the prettiest thing out there, but this is as close as I could get it (still some polyester stuck in there somewhere).

I didn't take any pictures, but I did fill it with epoxy and milled fibers.  This afternoon I used the grinder and sander and got it faired back in.

Now the hard part - putting the M6 inserts in place.  Going to use the drill press to make sure the holes are straight up and down.
