I didn't surf the dawn patrol this morning - I was pretty congested and figured I could use some rest. I actually did go to WPB early though - was trying to get Matt's board back to him, but it looks like he got busy with work.
I ended up talking with Tim, Dennis, Kalani and Roland about foils, surfboards and then this - the Foil Drive.
Will probably be designing a way to accommodate one of these on a SUP and a prone board...
Then I sanded the two blanks I have on the rack. First up was the long prone.
Then I took on the new 4'8"
This one did not have a stringer - so I had to mark the midpoint. After lots of measuring (and even reshaping the nose as it was off), I got the location of the mast track reinforcement block marked out. I was getting a little tired (I actually didn't surf in the morning so I could rest) so I didn't break out the router.
And for efficiency, I didn't want to take the router out until I got the block location marked out on the long prone. According to the research I've done. this is where the tracks would go. I'm still contemplating adding a second set of boxes (8" or another set of 10.75")
Once I decide on the box configuration, I'll rout (probably tomorrow).
