I hit Hickam after work because the tradewinds returned today!!!!
And everybody came out to break the wind fast - there were probably 10 wingers out at the peak.
No.25 with no rear strap, 85cm Project Cedrus mast, the KD15" stabilizer and the RS 5.1
The wind was slightly up and down, but I was good with the equipment that I put together. I had a blast tacking into drops at Firsts. The waves were a good size to play with and get my groove back. The wind was a bit fluky and I went down a few times. On the last run, I ended up on the inside of Seconds, and ended up over the reef where I normally fish at extreme low tides. Lucky for me it was high tide and I didn't touch bottom.
The wind did come up again and then I worked my way back up wind - even though at times it felt like I was moving in slow motion back up. It was almost as if the wind was bending in from the North. Ah whatevers - I made it back.
The wind graph from the airport didn't show any bending, but you can see a slight difference in the track above.
Forgot to mention - I saw a decent sized manta hanging around the inside.
Fun day!!!
