After I got back from foiling, I put more work into the mast repair so I could get it done and out of the garage. I sanded the filled area flush, then went through the 80-120-180-220-320 sanding discs. I went ahead and wet sanded through 400-500-1000 grits. Then I took a bunch of measurements and drilled the pilot holes.
I drilled the holes larger in steps to make sure the alignment was good. Here are the bolts in place.
Then I countersunk the bolt holes.
And now you can't tell the difference between my mast and the repaired one (mine has all four bolts in it) - another repair all finished.
