Change of pace for the dawn patrol - hit Kailua Beach Park. It's really fun to hang over here - lots of wingers and they all like to chat about the latest happenings!
Bobby, Eddie and the regulars - Eric, Billy, and on and on - probably 20 wingers out this morning.
Plus dawn here is just really fantastic -
Kalani finally got to test out his new KT Dragonfly - Wing Foiling Mode today!
Same gear as the last session.
I only did one session - not two like it seems. Towards the end of the session, the wind had died and I resigned to paddle in (it wasn't too far). By the time I got in to the launch point, the wind had picked up again and I headed back out to shed the "paddle-in" status of this run.
This wind graph is from Bellows Field - close enough, but the wind would have been stronger here and less subject to wind shadowing.
Pretty much perfect 5.2 wind.
This shows how East the wind was.
The waves were decent - mainly wind driven swell from the channel fetch. The wind direction made it tricky to catch the waves - there was a significant shadow right where you'd want to pick up a wave. Made for some aborts until I could get pressure in the wing.
The 32mph reading is an anomoly. There are 19.6 mph readings across the series.
And this is after the wind came back up (as the squall in the distance that shut down the wind in the first place made its approach).
Fun session!!!
