The wind settled down to sub-winging levels today. And with the tide at lower levels also, I figured I'd take a break today and work on the repair and build in the garage.
I routed out the polyurethane fill and tweaked the foam blocks to fit nicely into the slots.
Then I lined the slots with carbon and got ready for the epoxy placing.
I mixed two batches of 3.5 ounces - the first was brushed on the carbon and I let it sit for a bit so it could start hardening. I brushed on epoxy to the bottom and sides of one of the blocks then ran out of first batch epoxy. I mixed the second batch and got both covered and slotted.
Then I took the remainder of the second batch and mixed in Thiksil - which I then squeegeed into any sidewall voids I could see.
Saran wrap went on and then the weights.
Tomorrow I'll pull the plastic and sand down the bumps and excess. Then I'll mark the location of the Futures boxes (and maybe rout those out...)
I also aligned the reinforcement block on No.33
I'm positioning the boxes 1.5" up from where they are on No.18
And that is already up from an inch up (as this board is 2" longer - my starting point was the center points aligned; put an inch up front and the other at the back).
Lots of work ahead (No.33 is going to have a bunch of footstrap inserts on it; I'm going to make the reinforcement block top to bottom through the blank; and I'm adding a handle to this one) - so I kinda want to finish the adjustment on No.30 first.
